Scholarship Endowment Announced by the Education Foundation

FUND CREATED IN HONOR OF TEACHER

On May 11, 1999, the Mile High Chapter (Denver, Colorado) of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) announced the creation of an endowment fund honoring Columbine High School technology and business instructor Dave Sanders, who was among those killed on April 20, 1999. This fund will be used to provide grants of tuition and book aid to Columbine graduates going on to seek technology-related college degrees. Additionally, Columbine High School teachers and other teachers in Jefferson County will have the opportunity to apply for one-time grants for continuing education in technology and related fields. This will enhance their ability to teach technology to students at the high school level. Tax deductible contributions, payable to the Foundation for Information Technology Education, may still be added to the Dave Sanders Memorial Scholarship fund.  Gifts can be mailed to the following address:

The Association of Information Technology Professionals is an international organization of I.T. professionals and students, formerly known as the Data Processing Management Association (DPMA). The Denver chapter was formed in 1952 and meets for dinner on the third Thursday of every month.  More information about the Denver AITP chapter, including meeting dates and details, can be found at the chapter website
