The Foundation provides an excellent vehicle for establishing scholarships to support those who are interested in an information systems-related career.
If you are interested in providing financial support to existing programs at the Foundation, or would like to
establish a new program that is in alignment with the Foundation's mission, please contact us using the
"Contact" link in the menu. The Foundation, as a 501(c)(3) corporation, provides those who are interested in supporting the development of the information
technology profession with an established and trusted means of reaching a national audience.
Ways of Giving
There are several attractive alternatives means of giving under current tax regulations. For example, gifts
of appreciated property (including stocks, bonds, assorted securities, and real estate) can have a dramatic
impact. The impact of a direct gift of the appreciated asset is often greater than the impact that would
result from first selling the asset and then making a gift of cash, particularly if the assets have been
held in excess of one year.
The Foundation also accepts gifts that are made as bequests in a donor's will. In addition, the Foundation
is willing to explore other charitable giving methods such as charitable remainder unitrusts or charitable
remainder annuity trusts. If you are interested in making a gift as part of your estate planning process,
we invite you to become a member of the DPMA Legacy Society.
Many companies are willing to match the gifts that their employees provide
to eligible charitable causes, particularly in the area of education. You may want to
determine whether this type of program exists at your company. If so, it provides a
great way to increase the power of an individual employee's gift.
The Foundation is able to provide the services and scholarships that it currently
offers as a direct result of the visionary support of past donors. We are grateful
for this support and pledge our best efforts to wisely use these resources to enhance the
opportunities that are available for information technology education.
