Information about the Sherry Anklam Award:
The Northeastern Wisconsin Chapter of AITP established this award program to honor the memory of Sherry Anklam, a Chapter Past President who embodied all of the best values that this award is based on. Sherry passed away in 1995 at the early age of 44, but not before leaving her mark on AITP, the Northeastern Chapter of AITP and the IT profession. She provided a role model for those who knew her with her dedication to excellence in all she pursued including educational pursuits, ethical standards and a work ethic second to none—and her dedication to the profession through AITP.
This award, which is presented in the Spring of the year to worthy applicants, is restricted to AITP student members in good standing who belong to one of the various AITP student chapters sponsored by the Northeastern Wisconsin professional chapter.
The criteria for selection for this award includes academic achievement, leadership , AITP student chapter participation and community involvement.
The Chapter board also can/does make awards directly to its student chapters for worthwhile educational projects that it believes will benefit the student chapter members and embody the ideals that Sherry stood for.
The fund is managed by the Foundation for Information Technology Education with the selection process managed by the Board of Directors of the Northeastern Wisconsin Chapter of AITP.
